This is what we are having right now. Basically just swap cheese curds with shredded cheese. Whoever thought this food up is a genious.

Boooo you need real cheese curds.

Yeah, real cheese curds and that gravy is waaaaaaay too dark. I’ll bet it tastes great nonetheless!
(The fries are wrong, too, but I’m not a fan of the traditional poutine fries. Your fries look awesome.)

It's more like roast beef gravy. I don't think we know what light brown gravy is down here. These fries were awesome indeed. I don’t care for wedge style fries. These were crispy and done just right.

I would like to try yall's version eventually. I’m sure it’s just as good as what we have.

That’s been a staple diet for a night out in the North of England for years.
Usually goes like this: get hammered, head to the chippie for ‘chips, cheese and gravy’, then eat them while you wait with your mates at the taxi rank for your chariot home.

Really? Honestly did not know that. Very cool.

It used to be a donner kebab but they were awkward to eat standin up and often spilt a lot of it on the floor. Chips, cheese an gravy is hot, quick and easy to eat anywhere.
Gravy based stuff isn’t new here. Having a cup of Bovril at a football match on a cold day was and still is a common thing.

I thought Bovril was more like a broth though?

It’s a broth essentially. It’s a meat extract added to boiling water to make make drink but we always added it to gravy to make it meatier as kids. So I’ve always known it as a gravy.
Another thing I’ve grown up knowing wrongly. Doh.

Poutine is great, but I believe that the southern version might be the also-delicious Chili Cheese Fries.

Our version is definitely chili cheese fries, which are our way of making boring potatoes edible. So good.

I see nothing wrong with that. Chili is awesome when made correctly and goes on a lot of different things.
